Anthracite Curling Club adopts new logo

The culmination of the Anthracite Curling Club logo contest has resulted in a new look.

The logo’s creator, John Q. King (Skip, Team RAMROD), could be seen wearing a yellow-and-black prototype of this look since the beginning of the 2010 Summer League season.

WILKES-BARRE — As we pass the halfway point in the 2010 Summer League season, each conference appears to have its own Evil Empire.

Week 6 marks half-way point for most teams

Many teams taking the ice tonight for Week 6 of the 2010 Summer League will surpass the half-way points in their regular seasons. Some of those teams have a chance to set themselves apart as an odds-on favorite for the postseason, others need wins to maintain a spot in a playoffs battle, and some others are trying to keep themselves in the mix.

Schoolhouse Rocks! drops first draw at Arena Club Championships

UPDATED Saturday @12:27 p.m.

WOODSTOCK, Vt. –Schoolhouse Rocks! awaits a 3 p.m. draw and a chance to stay alive in the GNCC Arena Club Championship Bonspiel.

The team representing Anthracite Curling Club lost its second draw last night to Ocean State CC #1, 13-3, but remains hopeful of securing a win this afternoon in an elimination draw. Continue reading

Schoolhouse Rocks! representing ACC at GNCC Arena Club Championship bonspiel

Anthracite Curling Club will be represented at this year’s Inaugural GNCC Arena Club Championship Bonspiel by the 2010 Summer League team Schoolhouse Rocks!

Fresh off its first win of the season, the team is hoping for more good fortunes when it takes the ice at Union Arena in Woodstock, Vt. The team’s first draw is Friday at 1 p.m. vs. Rutland Rocks CC #2. Continue reading
