Schedule change: Friday sessions moved to Saturday

There has been a schedule change to our league schedule. Due to hockey camps running all week each week, the draws scheduled for June 9 and June 15 have been moved to June 10 and June 16, respectively.

We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.

Avoiding the obligatory Election Day references, League Championship continues tonight

It’s Primary Election Day in Pennsylvania and despite attempts to somehow tie that into the preview for this week’s curling action have resulted in FAILure.

So, we’ll go with the unbiased, down-the-middle, “fair and balanced” start to the preview …

Anthracite Curling Club’s 2012 Club Championship season continues tonight with the second of seven regular season draws and that means four more draws at 7:30 at The Ice Rink at Coal St. in Wilkes-Barre.

Remember, there are still plenty of good seats available at The Ice Rink tonight and admission to watch is FREE. It’s been chilly lately and thus that makes the rink feel colder, so if you’re planning to watch, don’t forget a jacket.

Club Championship season begins tonight

Tonight we start our third regular season of curling at The Ice Rink at Coal Street in Wilkes-Barre.

Eight teams are ready to go at 7:30 tonight in the first of seven rounds of the 2012 Club Championship season.

Here are the first round of draws, listed by Sheet assignment:

(1) Kerrick vs. Cawley
(2) Karampilas vs. Keeler
(3) Lyons vs. Baessler
(4) Sophy vs. Perrino

Check back later tonight for scores. If you’re in the neighborhood, stop by The Ice Rink at 7:30. Admission is free and there are “still plenty of good seats available.”
