Demented Magenta steals 6 to seal Winter League title

Demented Magenta (Brandon Jackson, Ross Ruschman, Heather Walter, and Stacey Berkoski) have won the 2013 Winter League championship, defeating Bonanza on Saturday night, 7-4.

The champs (5-2) stole 6 points over three ends en route to the win, including a back-breaking steal of 3 in the fifth, killing any hope of a comeback for Bonanza (5-2).

After missing a chance at multiple points with the Hammer in the 3rd, Bonanza missed another chance for at least 3 points, 4 if the Hammer stone stuck, in the 4th end.

Demented Magenta finishes the season with a 5-2 record, including a 4-game winning streak to start the season and clinch the first spot in the Finals. Bonanza lost its first and last games of the season, running off five consecutive wins in the middle to earn the other Finals berth.

In the Winter League Second Event Final, House Hunters scored 3 points in the 2nd and its single in the 4th with the Hammer proved to be enough in a 6-3 win over Sons of Shaddrat.
