In the words of Frank Costanza, Anthracite Curling Club is “going to be all over that shuffleboard court” on Saturday.
The “shuffleboard court” of course, being the Toyota Sportsplex in Wilkes-Barre. We’re going to be there pretty much all day and we’re shutting the place down at night.
It’s your first chance to get fully immersed in the sport of curling or it could just be your chance to fulfill your curiosity about the game.
Our first Open House begins at 3 p.m. We’ll be there until 7. The Open House is a good chance to get acquainted with the sport of curling and our Club.
After a short break, we’ll be back on the ice at 10 p.m. That’s when we’ll be starting our first Learn to Curl class. Learn to Curl classes get you more prepared to start playing the game in our upcoming Leagues.
It’s not too late to join this Learn to Curl session. If you’d like to sign up today, give us a call or use this handy online form to get the process started and reserve your spot now.
While our next curlers are learning how to get a firm footing on the ice, some more experienced players will be participating in our ongoing Hatspiel competition. Sign up today and we’ll put your name into the hat and you’ll be picked at random for a team. We use a modified points system, though we’re really just out there for the fun of the game.
