Anthracite Curling Club is back on the ice starting tonight for at least the next six weeks as part of SummerSpiel 2011.
SummerSpiel is an 8-team, six-week league that will take us to Labor Day this year.
Here is the schedule for tonight’s draws:
> Sheet 1: Cracked Ice vs. Team Binghamton
> Sheet 2: Stacey feat. Ice Techs vs. Platoon
> Sheet 3: Team Piatt vs. Happy Hour
> Byes: Squirrels, Bitter End
All draws begin at 6 p.m., with Ice Prep beginning at 5 p.m. Teams on the schedule are encouraged to show up early to help prep the ice for the draws.
Tonight, we’ll also be entertaining WNEP sports anchor Sharla McBride for a segment she’ll be recording for an upcoming newscast.
If you’d like to try curling, the month of August will be your chance. Let us know if you’d like to attend an impromptu Learn to Curl class on a Tuesday in the month of August and we’ll do our best to accommodate you.
