In a match reminiscent of some of the wild scorelines seen at Anthracite Curling league nights, the U.S. topped Czech Republic, 7-6, in the Loser-Out match of the Mens Olympic Qualification event held in Germany last week.

The U.S. scored 5 in the 8th end to take a 7-3 lead after trailing 3-2 through 7 ends. The Czechs countered with 2 points in the 9th and a steal of a single in the 10th.

Hosts Germany defeated Czech Republic in the Winner-In draw held the night prior and will join the U.S. of A. in the field at the Sochi Winter Olympics, starting Feb. 10, 2014.

These United States won its last five matches of the tournament and finished with an impressive 7-2 mark after things looked ominous for the Stars & Stripes in the early rounds.
