Learn to Curl draws attention to Club

Annual Meeting: Aug. 4, 4-6 p.m.

Anthracite Curling Club will hold its 2012 Annual Meeting at The Arena Bar and Grill along Coal St. in Wilkes-Barre. The meeting will be held from 4-6 p.m.

Aside from general business of the Club, there are several seats among the Board of Directors and Officers up for election. Your attendance is greatly appreciated

USA Curling Nationals set for Philly in February

A chance to see world-class curling competition is coming to Pennsylvania in just two months and your opportunity to get close to the action is very real.

The 2012 USA Curling Nationals will be held from Feb. 11-18 at IceWorks Skating Complex in Aston, Pa., just outside Philadelphia.  The Men’s and Women’s fields will consist of the 10 best teams in the country, all competing to represent the U.S. at the World Championships. Continue reading

Hello Curling Friends, This year, I’ll be participating in a very special event called the Susan G. Komen 3-Day for the Cure in Philadelphia on Oct. 14, 15, and 16. I’ll walk 60 miles over the course of three days with thousands of other women and men.
Net proceeds from the 3-Day for the Cure fund innovative global breast cancer research and local community programs supporting education, screening and treatment.
Virtually every major advance in the fight against breast cancer in the last 28 years has been impacted by a Komen for the Cure grant.

I’ve agreed to raise at least $2,300 in donations, so I need your help. Would you please consider making a donation? Keep in mind how far I’m walking – and how hard I’ll have to train. Continue reading
