Special club meeting will address non-profit status

Anthracite Curling Club announces it will hold a special meeting on Saturday, Feb. 19 at 8:30 p.m. at the Ice Rink prior to ice prep and Saturday Night Curling.

League title to be decided tonight

Today marks the end of the 2010 Summer League season at Anthracite Curling Club as the top four teams battle for the first Club championship.

At 6 p.m., Stone Cold will battle C&Ds for the Fell Conference championship. In the other semifinal draw, Lyons will face Fifteen for the Smith Conference title. The winners of those draws will square-off at 8 p.m. for the Club championship. Continue reading

Squirrels lose, then Stone Cold wins to take Buckwheat Division crown

The final night of 2010 Summer League regular season curling wasn’t without drama until just around 10.

In the night’s final draw, Stone Cold defeated Team RAMROD, 7-3, to win the Buckwheat Division championship and advance to the Playoffs on Aug. 24. Continue reading

One more team is in Playoffs, one more spot to be filled

WILKES-BARRE – The Aug. 24 dance card is nearly full.

Lyons became the third team to clinch a divisional championship and a spot in the 2010 Summer League Playoffs. It defeated MLC, 5-3, and combined with a Goody’s loss to JEMM, clinched the Stove Division. Lyons will face Fifteen in the Smith Conference Finals at 6 p.m. on Aug. 24. Continue reading
