Our Fall League is entering the critical stages and the top two places are still open. The teams finishing in first and second place at the end of play on Nov. 24 will play for the Fall League championship on Dec. 8.
After play on Saturday, there is just one undefeated team. House Hunters edged Ham & Eggers, 5-4, scoring the decisive point in the 7th End. Ham & Eggers erased an early two-point deficit with 3 points in the 3rd End but could only manage a single tally after consecutive Hunters’ steals.
The Coal Crackers moved into second place thanks to a 6-3 win over Macchu Picchu, which moves to third place after suffering its first defeat of the Fall. Steals in the 4th, 5th, and 6th Ends locked in a victory for the Crackers Saturday.
Getting its first victory of the Fall League on Saturday was Demented Magenta in a battle of teammates-turned-rivals (in the friendliest of ways, of course), toppling JAAM, minus the AM, 4-3, in a seesaw one-point battle.
SIDE NOTE: All three draws completed a full 7 ends within 1 hour, 45 minutes of game time.
